I bring to St Michael’s a wide range of experience and expertise. I have led a small, rural Church of England Primary, led a medium-sized primary school in Exeter and also undertaken many roles in a large primary school in Teignmouth (including Deputy Head, SENDCo, English and Maths Lead and Data Lead). Before this, I began my early career in the Secondary Education sector. I’ve worked in both small and large Trusts, served on the board of a local committee and also supported other schools and leaders in their education journeys. I know this wealth of experience will serve me role as I undertake the headship at St Michael’s.
An absolute passion for me is working with colleagues to shape the best possible curriculum for the schools that I serve. I believe that a curriculum should be both academically ambitious, rich in meaningful experiences, and effective in character cultivation. I believe that when the curriculum is designed right, every child can flourish.
Outside of school I enjoy playing sports – though I’ll admit that chasing after two young children at home has become my most consistent form of exercise! My weekends are often spent exploring the beautiful Devon coastline, spending quality time with family or catching up with friends.
